Terms of use

Last updated: May 2026.

Plain-English placeholder, not solicitor-reviewed. These terms are provided in good faith to make the project’s intent clear while it is free and pre-launch. They are not legally vetted and will be replaced with a properly drafted version before any paid features are introduced.

1. About these terms

These terms govern your use of CircuitWise UK (“the site”). By using the site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the site.

2. What we provide

CircuitWise UK is a free, browser-based educational tool covering UK domestic electrical wiring. It includes an interactive circuit canvas, a library of written articles, and practice puzzles. The site is provided “as is” and we may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it at any time without notice.

3. Educational purpose only

The site is for general learning and personal interest only. It is not professional electrical advice, it is not a qualification, and it is not a substitute for a registered electrician or for formal inspection and testing. See the full disclaimer for detail.

4. Acceptable use

You agree that you will not:

  • use the site for any unlawful purpose, or to encourage anyone to carry out unlawful electrical work;
  • scrape, mirror, redistribute or republish the site’s content in bulk;
  • present the site or its content as your own, or as the work of any qualified electrician, body or scheme;
  • attempt to disrupt the site, probe it for vulnerabilities, or interfere with other users’ use of it;
  • rely on the site as the sole basis for any real electrical installation work.

5. Intellectual property

The site’s articles, canvas, components, code and design are the intellectual property of the operators of CircuitWise UK except where third-party material is identified. You may use the site for your own personal, non-commercial learning. You may not copy, republish or otherwise exploit the content commercially without written permission.

References to standards (such as BS 7671) and to third-party schemes or organisations are for identification and educational reference only; we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any of them unless explicitly stated.

6. Circuits you create

Circuit designs you create are stored locally in your browser. You retain whatever rights you have in those designs. You are responsible for the content of anything you create and for any decisions you make on the basis of it.

7. No warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the site is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including warranties of accuracy, completeness, fitness for any particular purpose, or non-infringement. The site’s built-in checks are simplified educational rules of thumb and are not BS 7671 compliance validation.

8. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operators of CircuitWise UK shall not be liable for any loss, damage, cost or expense (including indirect or consequential loss) arising out of or in connection with your use of, or reliance on, the site or its content.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or (c) any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. If you are a consumer in the UK, your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and other applicable legislation are not affected.

9. Third-party links

The site may link to third-party resources. We have no control over and accept no responsibility for the content, accuracy or availability of any external site or material.

10. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top of the page will reflect the latest version. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms and your use of the site are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising in connection with them.

12. Contact

Questions, corrections or concerns? Please get in touch via the contact details published on the site.
