Adding a spur to a ring final circuit

A "spur" is a branch taken off a ring to feed an extra accessory without re-routing the ring itself. The existing socket on the left is already wired into the ring (its two ring legs are shown in grey). The rule that catches people out (BS 7671): an unfused spur taken directly from a ring may feed ONE single or one double socket only, and you may take only ONE spur from any one point on the ring. Need more than that? Use a fused connection unit (FCU) as the spur origin instead. Your job: run a single 2.5mm² twin-and-earth spur from the ring socket's terminals to the new socket. Terminate it at the ring socket first, then at the new socket.
